I read somewhere on the net that the bottom sleeve of trousers/shalwars etc. Should be above the ankels while praying. Is this true?

Yes, for men only, the cloth should be above the ankle, but not only when praying but always.

We (Me and my husband) embraced islam together...so we are basically educating ourselves. My husband works and prefers me to stay home. While he is at work I study surahs and ayats.

Because of his work schedule I am basically our teacher. Is this permissable? I learn the surahs,then use index cards to teach my husband.
Other muslims say my husband should be teaching me,but I try to lesson the burdon by helping with our din. He works very hard to give me so much.
Plus...we are partners right? INSHA ALLAH someone can help with this.

Wa Alaikom Assalam,

Of course there is no problem at all the you teach your husband something from Islam. The prophet's wife Aisha used to teach other men if they ask her about Islam.

You can both teach each other, no problem at all with that.
But make sure that you get the correct knowledge of Islam and that you teach things correctly.

May Allah Almighty strengthen your faith and keep you in the right path.
