The horn of Africa under siege (again)
For almost 16 years the children of Somalia have not known the meaning of peace. Their country has been devastated by war and some of them since birth until just recently did not know what peace meant. Even before that there were skirmish between Somalia and Ethopia. When Gen. Muhammad Farah Aideed took over the country in 1991 Mohamed Barre the last recognized leader who fled the country for Nigeria. The country was then plunged in more fighting and this time factional infighting. Several hundreds and famine ripped the country apart. Almost half million fled across the border to Kenya and those who remained were affected by disease that spread in the country. The country suffered from starvation and aid was needed. However that aid was not reaching the starving people as soldiers were stealing the food. In 1993 Un soldiers were attacked and killed by Farrah Aideed’s clan and war broke out again and this time it was against the American forces inside Somalia, that was the well known “black hawk down incident when two US black hawks were dropped by the Somali fighters according to US figures a total of 18 US rangers were killed and 75 wounded. This prompted the US to, lick its wounds and ego and around a year after pull out its forces from the horn of Africa.
So Somalia is not new to the world as far as suffering is concerned, because after this it was plunged again into chaos one more time with warlord fighting for power. In 2000 transitional governments were put in place and Abdiqassim Salad Hassan was chosen as president for 3 years, they had peace talks after that to determine who would take over putting, but talks broke down. Since president Barre fleeing the country in 1991 Somalia has not known a central government, with law and order and justice.
It is only recently that the Islamic Sharia courts have been able to restore some calm and peace in the country. Backed by the people who I am sure are fed up of the warring factions the Islamic sharia courts recently took over the country and since then have been able to maintain peace and justice.
Since the last months under the Islamic Sharia Courts Somalia seems to have through change. Justice reigned in the country, people driven out of their houses by war and squatters are being given back their rights, and the price of food came down all in the interest and well being of the people. Courts are filled with civil case seeking after Islamic justice where none is oppressed and rights are given. The people have chosen their government which they back and which is working for them, that in itself is democracy, the people’s choice. Just as the fair and free elections in palestine where Hamas was duly elected.But the west would have none of it.
The US rants and raves of democracy but cannot bear true democracy when it stares in the eyes. It does not want the peoples choice, its form of democracy has to handpicked, funded and trained by the Us to do its bidding, a despot leader is put into power as long as his country supports the US and their foreign policy . Any other form of democracy is not accepted. So the US finances the Opposition and also the neighbours to pump up the heat on the new government that is not following US type democracy. Especially if like Hamas it is a Muslim government not into corruption and injustice that the people have chosen.
So now Somalia is plunged back into darkness after the short lived peace and security, fainess and Justice. Ethopia, their Neighbours have been given weapons by the US, and together with the opposition, the transitional corrupt government the people don’t want, are pounding the Islamic sharia courts into regretting they were even born. So no fairness and Justice in this world means nothing to the US mafia administration, all they are interested in is power, oil, not the children of Somalia.
The Ethopian army has crossed into Somalia and and with US funded airplanes are ponding mogadishu’s airport. The US will support Israel to Bomb Iran and use Ethiopia to remove the Islamic government in Somalia. However if any other country decides to help the Islamic government to defend itself whether through finance or any other means then they are considered to be terrorists or financing terrorism, now we cannot have that, only terrorist states like the US are allowed to finance any other state to pound the smithereens out of another state.
