Islamic Relief Worldwide has launched an urgent appeal for €1.5 million to help 30,000 people in Puntland and 90,000 people in southern Somalia.
Somalia has been thrown into chaos after a conflict between the Union of Islamic Courts and the Transitional Federal Government for control.
"Everything is upside down, there is no government, no authority and everyone seems to have a gun in town." said IR aid worker Mohamoud Auke speaking from the capital Mogadishu.
An estimated 100,000 people have fled their homes because of the fighting. They need food, plastic sheets for shelter, clean drinking water and sanitation facilities.
