American soldiers recognize rape and murder of Iraqi girl
Recognized among the four American soldiers accused of raping an Iraqi girl reaches the age of 14 years in prison last spring, with members of her family.:x033:
James Parker pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against the others.
David Sheldon civil lawyer of the accused, James Parker, said
that his client agreed to confess at the outset to avoid the sort of
the death penalty. The lawyer said that Parker agreed to cooperate
with prosecutors and testify against others in return for a watered-
down of up to life imprisonment if convicted.
When the judge asked the military court accused of involvement in
the cause of the attack on the town of "Mahmoudia" (32 km south of Baghdad), Parker replied that he "hated Iraqis."
The attack on Mahmoudia in March 2006 is one of the worst attacks on civilians and violations by American soldiers in Iraq.
The investigation began last June on charges of killing a family of
four at their home in Mahmoudia.
Parker is facing the accusation of planning the attack and its implementation with Jesse Spillmann, Paul Zambia, and Brian Howard.
There is two of them who face the death penalty in the event of
conviction.
In addition, the former soldier Steven Greene, which is currently in one of prisons in the state of Kentucky, in front of a civil court,
he rejected the charges against him at a meeting last week of committing
civil offenses including murder and rape.
Parker said that Zambia and Greene raped the girl, then Greene
killed her with her parents and her sister, while he did not say that
Spillmann and Howard participated in the rape and murder although
they were present in the house at the time of the crime, including the
knowledge of their colleagues intend to do:x022:.
