in 1948 my grandmother was pregnant with her first child (my mother), when the Israeli troops occupied Akkah ,my grand`s homeland.
they had to leave she & my grandfather, for there was a total disaster & they couldn`t stay , or else they would be killed, but they took with them the key of their house (in order to return when things settle down).
my grandfather had a men`s saloon, he handed the key of the saloon to the young man who works with him.
they went to Lebanon, since it`s the nearest place from Akkah , they stayed for a while waiting for things to settle down in order to return to their home.
my grandfather was walking in the market where suddenly he saw his employee in Lebanon , he told him he couldn`t stay as well & handed him the key of the Saloon.
58 years passed, they both died & did not return.
their grandchildren are still waiting but no hope.
my father asked my grandmother what wish she wants , for he loved her as if she`s his own mother, she told him, i wish to visit Akkah before i die.
she died but he couldn`t fulfill her wish.
i don`t know who will fulfill her wish is it us or our grand grand grand grand... children!!!
they did not have enough with Palestine, they even made war with it`s surrounding, she ran away from the war & it still following her & her grandchildren are cursed with it as well.
if they are not stop, then the entire region will suffer as well, & who knows maybe the rest of the world!!
