Terrorism, killing, mercy killing and rape ordained in the bible

Deutronomy
13:6

If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#13:6)

13:8

Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#13:6)

13:9

But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#13:6)

13:10

And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#13:6);

Terrorism clearly defined

7:10 God will kill those who hate him.

20:10-11 God tells the Israelites to enslave (http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/slavery.html) the people that they conquer in war.

20:13

And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword: (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#20:13)

20:16 "But of the cities ... which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth." Kill the old men and women, the sick and the dying, the blind and the lame, pregnant mothers, nursing mothers, infants, toddlers, and babies. (http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/children.html)

20:19 In this verse, the Israelites are told not to destroy the trees (http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/save_trees.html) (They are only supposed to kill things that breath). But in 2 Kg.3:19 (http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/2kg/3.html#19) god tells them to cut down all of the trees.

Numbers 31:17-18 "Now Therefore KILL every male among the litlle ones, and KILL every woman that hath known man by lying(sex)with him.
"But keep alive for yo9urselves all the girls and all the women who are virgins"

Rape

21:11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#21:11)

21:12

Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#21:11)

21:13

And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#21:11) thou shalt go in unto her (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#21:11),

KILL ALL

2:33

And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#2:33)

2:34

And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain: (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#2:33)

2:35

Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.

2:36

From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us: (http://www.en.imanway.com/notes.html#2:33)

MakeNo mistake about it this is clear proof of Terrorism in the bible, and rape too.Judge for yourselves who the real terrorists are.The quran does not say this.It denounces killing women and children and the old it has a strict code of conduct.Rape is strictly forbidden in the Quran but encouraged here in the bible.See for yourselves and then judge.
There is a lot more this is just a few verses quoted to wet your appetite:D

Assalamu alaykum --

Your point is certainly a fair one. But with all respect, I think this kind of post generates more heat than light.

I know the assaults we endure from certain quarters on the Qur'an are difficult to bear, especially when we sense a certain inconsistency beneath the assaults. But is this kind of denigration of another faith system really to anyone's advantage? Is it not likely simply to redouble the commitment of the enemies of Islam?

To put it another way -- an assault on another man's scriptures is, I think, unlikely to encourage him to read ours with an open mind. To the contrary, it will set him busily to work tracking down more passages from the Qur'an he can mistranslate, wrench out of context, or otherwise misrepresent.

Peace and blessings,

Salams yusufthis is not an attack on their scriptures but just a reminder that before they call Muslims terrorists rapist and so on and so fotrth as they do every day , i encounter so much of the abuse my self, that may be they should look in their own faith and scriptures.May be this will make them come to terms with the fact that they are not the peace lovers they claim to be and may be through thids we can sit and discuss the common or uncommon aspects of our religion.
It is far too easy for many of them who not only don't know the Quran but have picked up a few verses here and there, and many who don't know their own scriptures. Many have been guided to Islam by reading their own bible. This is a reminder to them of their ignorance and a wake up call to search for the truth.
Jazakallah for the reminder.
Rasullallah (SAWS) said "ad- deen and naseeha" religion (islam) is a reminder(advice.

Assalamu alaykum my respected brother Aboomohammad --

Jazakallah khayrun for the nice reply. I certainly understand your position.

When I was lucky enough to hear sister Ingrid Mattson, a North American Muslim of great learning, speak recently, she referred to Christians who quote the Qur'an selectively and without the benefit of scholarship -- in order to "prove" their various rhetorical points -- as "non-Islamic fundamentalists."

Perhaps the challenge we face in dealing with these people lies in landing the message that Allah(swt) alone is worthy of worship ... and in landing the flip side of that message, that the Qur'an is His word and as such really and truly is authoritative, distinctive, and consistent in ways put it in quite a separate category from the Bible.

Ultimately, the only way I can see to establish these points to non-Muslims is to speak frankly and passionately of the obligation of all human beings to worship Allah (swt) alone ... and to live in such a way that people ask themselves what guides us.

If we don't do these things, and if we focus instead on the deficiency of their scriptures, then vast numbers of non-Muslims will simply file the whole issue under "theological debate." And these debates never end!

And I think perhaps when we enter into a debate like this, we do a big favor to the "non-Islamic fundamentalists."

Because then the Bible and the Qur'an seem to be on the same level, and the discussion is simply, who can find the most objectionable passage.

When we take part in a debate like this, the subject is NOT (for instance):

* How has the Qur'an confirmed that which is likely to be authentic within the surviving "New Testament" about worshipping Allah (swt) alone?

And the subject, when we are pointing out the deficiencies of the other person's scriptures, is NOT:

* How has the Qur'an helped to identify clearly that which is false and misleading about the supposed necessity of worshipping someone who was created by Allah (swt)?

These are the issues truly thoughtful Christians WILL consider in assessing Islam. But those other Christians, the ones who obsess, over and over and over again, about Aisha's age at the time of her marriage, or the number of wives the Prophet (saws) had, or the punishment for theft, or the supposed "order" to kill all kafir, etc., etc., ... these people have set their hearts against our deen.

HOW WE DEAL WITH THEM, however, will influence the thoughtful (and usually less talkative) Christians who are monitoring the conversation!

Ibn 'Abbas (ra) narrated:

"When Allah's Messenger (saws) sent Mu'adh to Yemen, he said, "You will come upon the People of the Book, let your first act be to call them to testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah."

Surely this has to be our priority!

My only point, brother, and I do hope you will forgive me if I have stated it imperfectly or with poor etiquette, is that we really cannot expect to "make them come to terms with the fact that they are not the peace lovers they claim to be" by pointing out deficiencies in their scriptures,

Why not? Because most Christian *already know* that there are vast chunks of the Bible -- perhaps most of the text -- that has no possible relevance to modern life ... And what is more, THEY ASSUME THAT THIS IS TRUE OF THE QUR'AN AS WELL!

Ask a fundamentalist Christian to explain the Bible passages you cite, and you will hear an earful about "context" and the transformative historic role "the Savior" played in human affairs. It's always "context." It's always an excuse for shirk.

The thing is, we read the Qur'an much more closely and carefully and with greater commitment than the average Christian reads the Bible. (I'm not sure how many brothers and sisters who are born Muslim realize this, but I believe most reverts from Christianity would admit that this is the case!)

So why not focus on the Qur'an's message, rather than giving the person an excuse to reinforce and defend, once again, some flawed, shirk-driven theology? Believe me, a Christian is READY to defend his/her scriptures with hours of talk about "context" and the "healing blood of the Savior."

On the other hand, he/she will be quite taken aback by the proposition that the Qur'an CONFIRMS the authentic message of Jesus, peace be upon him, namely the oneness of Allah(swt) and the necessity of worshipping Him.

And that may mean he/she stops debating for a moment and starts thinking.

With love and respect to you, and with understanding for the worthy aims of your post, I ask Allah(swt) to forgive me for any error I have made here, and for you to forgive me if I have caused any offense in sharing these views. Anything that is flawed or incomplete in them is from me, and anything that is good is from Allah (swt).

I forgot to mention that yes our prioity is to Invite to tawheed but this post is just to prove to them that they are not the perfect the are prtending to make out and that islam is not the evil they are making it look and that if they stop slandering Islam may be we can get on with debates that are more constructive since i have noticed that many non muslims who invite to islam as soon as they have no argument they turn to (11 and muslims are evil and terrorists and Quran says kill kill kill. This is just to slow them down on their tracks and make them think.
