Al Sallam Wa Alaikoum Wa Rahmat Allah Wa Barakatuh..

A sister in the arabic forum for women..
has suggested an idea which was more that perfect..

the idea was that.. each week.. one of us picks something to do and we do it for a whole week.. then the next week someone else picks another thing..
but all wat we do is for the sake of gaining ajir :)

for example, the 'SMILING WEEK" we had to smile a whole week to every sister we see, regardless of her religion..

another example , we had a "MOTHER's WEEK" , where we had to kiss our mother on her head and talk to her..

but that doesnt mean that after this week is over we should stop doing what we did for the past week.. :)
it should be like a new characteristic in us.. :)

so i will begin..
this week.. :)

we should all contact our family.. and call whom we havent talked to since a long time..

Count me in too!
Insha'ALLAH this is a great method for tarbiya for our souls.

I thought I'd brainstorm, and think of ideas for this nice project.

Here are some suggestions:

1] Quran reading week. Commit yourself to a max. of a juz' or a min of 3 ayas and read them very well, repeatedly until you memorize. Note: will require some jehad of the nafs :)

2] Sadaqa Week from your valuables, not junk. Every day give something away for the sake of Allah, no matter how big or small or to who(doesnt have to be money only, and not only directed to the poor). It will teach you ethaar & realize how blessed you are from Allah!

3] Tell someone you love them FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH. Make it a habit to bring a smile to a person's face :) Everyday tell someone different. Unless you don't know 7 people, send e-mails instead.

4] Qiyaam Week. try to not miss out on a minimum of 2 rakas a day after ishaa or before retiring. You could also finish a juz' in reading to combine the Ajr.

5] If you're married and have children. Have story of the prophets week. Each day gather your kid(s) and tell them about a different prophet.

6] Talub il Ilm Week(seeking islamic knowledge). For the women, the easist thing to do is pick out 7 cassettes of various scholars on various scholars, have them preach while you listen doing the chores, sitting relaxing, or folding the laundry(if you really are too occupied with housework!) But the best thing to do, to benefit ofcourse, is to sit down, with a pen and scribbler(notebook) and make notes. 7 lessons in 7 days...also a challenge, but ajr 3atheem!

Best wishes,

Wa Alaikoum Al Sallam Wa Rahmat Allah Wa Barakatuh..

thanks all for participating.. inshaAllah we will all be gaining ajr.. :)
as a start..
i would like to make one point clear.. and it's that.. after that week is over.. it doesnt mean that we should stop doin wat we were doing in the past week..
we should go on until we can.. :o)
but each week we stick on something specific..

this week..sister SkyAboveYou will pick something to do.. then after this week is over.. we will have another participant.. :o)
oh and by the way.. this thing has no end :)

Sister maryam_islam.. thanks for your wonderful idea's.. inshaAllah we will be doin them week by week..

and i want to thank you all again..
i hope we all meet in Al Firdaws il A'ala :)

Salam alaikum,Good, let's start :) We need to encourage each other just as the sahabas and sahabiyat raced to get the most ajr. So let's make this a "munafassa" ;)

فَاسْتَبِقُواْ الْخَيْرَاتِ أَيْنَ مَا تَكُونُواْ

InshaAllah sister :o)
but the fact that we will InshaAllah be gaining AJR should itself be a motivation :o)

Jazakee Allah khair sister with your Ideas :)
