01/20/05 "Irish Times" -- An Iraqi man and his wife have been shot dead in front of their five children by US soldiers who fired on the car in which the family was travelling.

The children survived but emerged from the car spattered with blood, screaming and traumatised. The soldiers tended to them and brought them to hospital.

The incident happened in Tal Afar, near Mosul, in northern Iraq, late on Tuesday.

According to the US military, soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Infantry Division out of Fort Lewis, Washington, fired on the car when it failed to stop and came towards soldiers, despite warning shots, during a dusk patrol.

The US forces' press service said the military extended its condolences for the incident, but added that "the military must take appropriate action against possible threats" because of the prevalence of car bombs.

The incident was witnessed by Chris Hondros, a photographer, who recorded it in a series of dramatic pictures. They show how troops shot dead the driver and one passenger - husband and wife, apparently, but unnamed in the photograph captions.

The five children in the rear of the car survived, with only one being slightly injured by a bullet. The military said it was investigating what happened.

I don't think Aboo Mohammad meant it as you have thought. These are some part of people who are bad, but the western world has the good and bad in them. I think the comments were on the pictures of people in the Army who do many evil things as we say often.

For me at least, I don't see the western world as bad people. In fact, many of them are good and they are hard working people. Unfortunately many Muslims are not as good as they are at work, for example. The western world requires better Dawah to see more people coming back to Islam, the true religion of God. In many cases, I see that the new converters are far much better than too many born Muslims, including me of course!

So, sister Jana, to answer your question: I don't see the westerners as bad people and there are many good people there like you :) And those who embrace Islam are the best of course.

I did not mean to offend in that post.I myself am born and bred in the West and my parents are still there in the west.The issue i was raising here is that a lot of this goes on and there is no doubt it does. Many of the missionaries are working with the army and there Jobs are to convert muslims by hook or by crook.As muslims when you see the photos of these little children and the occupation forces it its on that nerve straight away, they are our children, our borthers and sisters. I have children and loads and I love children, there are loads iof info about how those missionaries from the west are buying orphanages in Muslim countries not because they care so much for our children, but because they know that many of the older people it is difficult to convert them.But children are innocent, they would not know the reasons why these peole are being good to them and they do not have sufficient knowledge to know better who Is Jesus and what is the Mission of these mercenaries not missionaries.This is the army of Shaitan working hand in glove to destroy Islam.Sister you are now to me more a muslim than what we consider a westerner, when a comment like this is made it is not implying the Good muslims out there.If a person like you was taking charge of one of these children then no muslim would complian we would be more than happy.But take a muslim child out of light and send him into darkness that is the worst punishment one can give that innocent child.

I was a kafir only a few years back too. But with Allah's help I am purging any love for them from my heart. Your over-use of the term"we" is a concern. Remember we will be raised on the day of ressurrection with those we hold dear in our hearts.

Please note the politeness with which i address you, brother. Let's face a little reality. 1.) I am a muslima and Islam is my religion. that is first and foremost. 2.) I live in the west, sorry, there's no getting around that. So that makes me a muslima from America. Not much i can do about that either. 3.) As far as my "overuse of the term 'we'", I used that term once and used the term "us" once. 4.) I don't know what your background is other than the little bit stated above, but I am sensing less a "purging of love" and more a building of anger and hatred. For that, brother, I will pray for you. 5.) I do not need to be reminded who is going where on the last day, brother.

What I believe needs to be stated is that every hour of every day we, as muslims, are doing dawah. It is shown in how we treat others, how we dress, how we worship, what we say, and what we do. We are in the spotlight 24/7. We are in a constant battle with the media, who would prefer to show how "bad" muslims are. Are we approachable or reproachable? Will our attitude attract others to Islam or scare them away, or even worse, reinforce the stereotypes already held by them? Do our attitudes attract or scare away our own people? Prophet Mohammed (salla Allahu aleihei wa'salaam) is our role model. He was kind, generous, humble and honest to himself and others. We are all called by Allah (swt) to reach out and bring others to the true path. If we purge love of others from our hearts, how can we begin to follow that which we are all called to do?

May Allah (swt) reward those of my people, who approached me with warm hearts, not ones that were cold from lack of love. They showed me the light and the true path i should follow. Allahu Akbar!

One thing i would like to mention about these horrendous scenes perpetrated on the muslim Ummah is , most of the bodies or faces were either scorched or burnt in someway or another.The so called peacemakers are using illegal weapons(WDMs) against muslims while we are suppose to sit and support their actions.There is only so much you injustice and corruption you can do.
All I can say is "do onto others what you want others do onto you". Allah watches with patience.Do not think think we have been forsaken,Allah promises victory to Islam in the Quran.Allah is truth, the prophet mohamed is truth and the Quran is truth. Allah will inflict sever punishment on these people and Ya rab I wish I live to see it.
Be patient the victory is not far away and it will be sweet insha Allah.

We must remember that there are those called terrorists who are also perpetrating crimes against our Ummah. It is easy to blame one side or the other, but each side must equally share the burden of blame for loss of innocents. I do not defend the west for they began the conflict by making bogus claims about WMD in Iraq.

May those who take innocent lives suffer the consequences that only Allah can provide. It will be them, who on the last day, will cry for mercy when they turned a deaf ear on those who they killed.
